20 Minute Honey Garlic Shrimp Recipe Healthy Easy Dinner!

Excellent fast super healthy dinner!

Maybe you want an excellent fast super healthy dinner ? Perhaps this weekend you had several fat slices of orange bundt cake followed by a fatter slice of lemon cake?  All the cake was consumed with the largest smile! Because, Hello!!!! Cake and margaritas! However it’s time for a healthy recharge right about now! Don’t you think?

The combination of honey and garlic is music to my ears, however you know what’s even better than that? We will have a 20 minute dinner on our hands tonight! That’s why I really like cooking seafood for dinner so often: it’s fast! The shrimp takes 5 minutes to cook on the stove, while the marinating takes 15 minutes more. Ok ok, whisking the marinade along can take an additional 12 seconds, but whatever…

For a bit additional flavor of this

In the marinade we’ve got three favorites: honey, soy sauce, and garlic. For a bit additional flavor, I added some minced fresh ginger, however that’s nonmandatory. I simply love honey + garlic + ginger!

I’d say the minimum marinade time is 15 minutes, however you’ll be able to let the shrimp marinate all day long when you’re at work. The marinade serves a pair of purposes. Not only will the shrimp take a soak in it, also it’ll be added to the cooking pan for a minute or two at the very end. Then you’ll be able to serve it as a sauce over the shrimp/veggies/rice/whatever’s on the side. (Like what we do with the maple sesame salmon!) Therefore not only is this dish healthy and fast with least ingredients, its convenience level is A+++.

What can be my favorite of all is that this very little part: fantastic caramelized bits of honey and garlic stick in the pan and edges of the shrimp. Scrape it all up because it is TASTY!!!

The shrimp recipe healthy easy:

20 Minute Honey Garlic Shrimp

Whisk the honey, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger (if using) along in a very medium bowl.
Place shrimp in a very large zipped-top bag or tupperware. Pour 1/2 of the marinade mixture on top, give it all a shake or stir, then allow shrimp to marinade within the refrigerator for 15 minutes or for up to 8-12 hours. Cover and refrigerate the rest of the marinade for step three. (Time-saving tip: whereas the shrimp is marinating, I steamed broccoli and microwaved some fast brown rice.)
Heat olive oil in a cooking pan over medium-high heat. Place shrimp in the pan. Cook shrimp on one side untill it becomes pink– about 45 seconds– then flip shrimp over.Pour in remaining marinade and cook it all till shrimp is cooked through, about one minute more.

Serve shrimp with cooked marinade sauce and a garnish of onion.

The sauce is superb on rice and steamed veggies on the side.

Recipe Notes:

You can take away the tail or leave it on. Whatever’s easiest!
Using leftover marinade could be a debated topic. While you may boil it to rid of any contamination, the flavour may probably change. However, do what you want. Sometimes I simply create slightly additional (like we tend to do here) to use because the sauce.
